Whether you are just starting to learn to cook or if you are a top chef, the Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is a must-have piece of cookware. This skillet is will last a lifetime.
Many owners of the Lodge 12 Inch Cast Iron Skillet have passed it down through generations. The older it is, the better it is and it’s great for stir-frys, steak and everything in between. I got my skillet from my grandmother and it is the top tool in both my indoor and outdoor kitchen and I have used it for over 35 years.
The Lodge 12 Inch Cast Iron Skillet is solid and heavy and has two handles for easy carrying and transitions from stovetop to oven with ease. So if you can only afford one good cookpot this is the tool for you to look at.
How to care for your Lodge Cast Iron Skillet
There are different ways for you to clean your skillet.
- Cut a potato in half and use the face of it along with salt to scrub your skillet. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- If your skillet gets rusty, scour with a bit of soap and then be sure to reseaon it with a generous amount of oil inside and out and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for one hour.
- Do not soak your skillet in water
- Do not clean it in a dishwasher
Versatile… A must have kitchen tool
You will find that the Lodge Cast Iron Skillet will exceed your expectations! You can buy fancy cookware but it will not have the ability to go to 800 degrees and put a crust on a steak that is unparalleled to anything else out there. It is a definite must have kitchen tool!
